From the Origin Unknown Series

This design is from a collection of antique photographs I have gathered over the years through my travels.

Each pillow is an original developed photographic Van Dyke print on charmeuse silk. The removable pillow is constructed with a cotton liner and an invisible zipper. The included pillow insert is made from 100% Responsible Down Standard (RDS) (90% goose down, 10% feather).

The Van Dyke photographic method was invented in 1895 which predated film photography. Van Dyke is known for capturing a broader range of shades than other early methods.

Each tote is unique, with slight variation, as this is a hand-printed process.

Handmade in my Brooklyn, NY studio and darkroom.
